Life Transitions
From pregnancy to birth, through the toddler years, and now into school age, my life as a mother is once again in transition. The constant demands of full-time motherhood are finally easing up a bit.
In recent years, there has been a sense of calm in both my professional and personal life. Just a few months before the global shutdown, I welcomed my son. Subsequently, my business had to shut down for six more months. Upon returning to work towards the end of 2020, everything had changed. We were all adapting, altering our routines, and being more cautious.
I was happy to be back to work but I was also appreciating the slowness and family time that the pandemic had forced on us. I decided then to keep my hours limited and that the "extras" - the emails, blogs, facebook posts, etc. could wait. Instead, my out of office time was spent with my kids at home.
As the new school year approaches, for the first time in 7 years I won't have a kids home with me.
I now have the freedom to decide how to use the valuable adult-only time that is available to me, and I have some exciting plans in mind.
Self-care, a topic I frequently discuss with patients, is an essential component of these plans, which also include catching up on online courses and trainings, as well as producing and sharing more TCM knowledge with you. I am looking forward to the next chapter.
Thanks for catching up!
Krista
